I got back home around noon today from the wedding I headed west to attend yesterday. It was at a location only 40 minutes from where I live, so getting there and back again was short and easy.
It was an awesome event. The setting was beautiful and the weather couldn't have been better (well, maybe a little cooler - lots of shade trees though). This is the second wedding in a row I've been to that had catered BBQ, too. Summer weddings and BBQ go together perfectly. Well, maybe not as much so for the brides with those white dresses and all...
I probably could have skipped getting a hotel room and saved $120, but I felt beforehand that it would be wise to have one since the beer and wine were set to flow last night. For some reason though the keg of microbrew that was on hand didn't seem like it had all that much alcohol in it. A few of us were putting away cup after cup of it and going, "uhhh... do you feel anything? I don't feel anything." When I woke up this morning, I felt great. Therefore... near beer? Did we get tricked?
It was good to get out of town for a bit and see some new places and old friends. Now I've got to get back to work. There's passive income to be built!
