Take A Walk, Help A Good Cause: Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk

Many of you out there who read this blog may not do a lot of a very basic thing: walking. Walking is good, low impact exercise that can help one to lose weight and maintain good cardiovascular health. Just a little bit of it every day can do wonders for you.

Still, many people will not even bother to do this for themselves. But what if you could do it for someone else?

This fall, the Alzheimer's Association will be holding their annual national Alzheimer's Memory Walk to raise money for Alzheimer research, care for those afflicted with the disease, and support for their family members. Teams in more than 600 communities across the U.S. already exist, and it is possible for you to form a new team if there is not one near where you live.

In fact, perhaps this event needs to be described as international: U.S. military personnel in Iraq have formed their own team to participate in this year's Memory Walk.

So please, consider participating in the walk. It will do you and someone else some good. And don't worry - the Internet will still be here when you get back.
