Trusted Tours and Attractions: I Wish I had Traveled to San Francisco With Them

In March of 2006 I left Pullman, Washington during Washington State University's spring break and headed to San Francisco with my girlfriend at the time. She was a pharmacy student and was attending conferences there, and I was just taking a break from my master's program to see the city and relatives I haven't visited with in a long time.

My girlfriend and I spent a great deal of time checking out the sights together, but when she went off to sit in on conferences, I took off on my own. One day while she was busy with conferences, I decided to find a cafe where I could sit down and work on my master's thesis a bit (I was to defend it the following May). I left my girlfriend at the convention center where her conferences were being held and took off looking for some coffee.

I was strolling along in downtown San Fran, minding my own, when I started to notice that the place was getting progressively nasty and disgusting. I became aware of the people in the area, many of whom were homeless, buying or selling drugs, and in general looking seedy.

That's about the point that it dawned on me that I had wandered into "The Tenderloin."

The Tenderloin is an area of San Francisco where liberal permissiveness run wild has resulted in a social cesspool of chaos, filth, drugs, and disease. It's not a good place to end up, so I promptly showed myself the exit.

This would not have happened if I were there with a company such as Trusted Tours and Attractions, one of a number of online travel guides that specialize in helping people find things to do in San Francisco that don't involve mixing in with the dregs of humanity. They can take you to popular sightseeing destinations, area attractions, and many other things so that you can hit all of the popular spots in an unfamiliar city without taking wrong turns like I did. They sell tour packages for lots of other cities, so for example they could help you find things to do in Las Vegas, or even get you into the Metropolitan museum of art for less than the usual cost of admission.

Right now they're raffling off a handheld GPS unit to people who sign up for their newsletter, too. You can get information on their latest discounts and deals and possibly win one of these handy devices. Who knows, maybe it could help you steer clear of trouble.
