Kiva.Org: Pulling My Cash Out

Kiva.org continues to be a happening place, so much so in fact that there are still practically no loan applications available to fund.

I looked in there just a moment ago and found one loan that was more than 90% funded, and before I am done typing this I am sure that it will hit 100% and drop off the radar. The recent changes Kiva instituted sure are having a positive effect!

Consequently, I haven't been able to make any new loans for a while now. There were a few I've seen in the last few days that I could have funded, but in keeping with my particular brand of what I hope is U.S. security-enhancing strategic microlending, I decided to pass these over.

As a result I've had idle funds in my Kiva account for a while, so I decided to pull them out today. They're not doing any good there, and they could be doing some good for me instead. So, what I've done is create a new account at ING Direct where I will hold these funds until a loan application I like becomes available. The money will still be ready and waiting to assist aspiring entrepreneurs, and I'll earn a little bit of interest while I wait for them to appear (emphasis on "little bit" in this case).
