I'm using a high powered air rifle and firing with open sights, and since recently discovering the ammunition that delivers a high degree of accuracy with the rifle I use, I haven't needed anything else. I will be doing quite a bit of work late at night, however, and at times it can be difficult to make out the silhouette of a pigeon in dim light. It would be nice to have a scope to assist me in such situations, so I've been looking online at various options.
A Nikon Black Friday Promo caught my eye during this search. This is a scope and laser range finder package that comes with a $50 Nikon Progear gift card, the total cost of which is $144.90 less than the total cost of all of the items in the package purchased separately. Plus, they're offering discounts on a number of binoculars, which is something that would help me quite a bit even without the scope and range finder. This package would be a significant cash outlay, but if it improves my effectiveness, it will pay for itself down the road when it comes time to renew the contract - the better I am, the more jobs I get hired to do.

Thanks for the heads up my nephew is 9 and is in his bb gun stage. I was wondering what i should get him for Xmas, thanks for the heads up on that one less gift i have to worry about.
Michael,
You're welcome! I'm glad to hear that your nephew is getting started on learning to shoot at an early age. I was about his age when my dad got me my first bb gun, too. It has been 24 years of safe firearm handling and shooting ever since for me!
Stash that link for when the $ is flowin' again in Spring.
I don't think the offer will be good by then. And by the spring, I'll probably have developed shooting super powers anyway. :)
I have a permit from the Corp of Engineers and the Walla Walla county Public Works dept. to enter the flood channels on the 10th and the 31st. It's looking like I'll enter from a point neat the Colville St. bridge and work may way west through the tunnel that runs under Macy's and on into the downtown area.
