Now the 2nd Amendment is Destroying Jamaica, Mon

I posted yesterday about the meme going around the leftist U.S. media that our 2nd amendment rights are responsible for Mexico's gun violence.

Well, now our rights are destroying Jamaica, too. I saw this pop up on the AP this morning:

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Ships from Miami steam into Jamaica's main harbor loaded with TV sets and blue jeans. But some of the most popular U.S. imports never appear on the manifests: handguns, rifles and bullets that stoke one of the world's highest murder rates.

This "story" even contains evidence of the same lie of omission the media keeps repeating about the Mexico situation, that a high percentage of weapons seized are coming from the U.S., when in fact it is actually a tiny fraction of all weapons seized that they bother tracing that turn out to come from here (and they trace selectively, not randomly):

The volume is much less than the flow of U.S. guns into Mexico that end up in the hands of drug cartels — Jamaican authorities recover fewer than 1,000 firearms a year. But of those whose origin can be traced, 80 percent come from the U.S., Jamaican law enforcement officials have said in interviews with The Associated Press. [emphasis added]

"Of those whose origin CAN be traced..." Once again it must be asked, "what about the others?" If 10 of 1,000 seized weapons can be traced, and 8 of those turn out to come from the U.S., that does not equal "80% of weapons seized in Jamaica came from the U.S." The leftist propaganda machine media will not give you this information, however, they will simply continue to chant "80%! 80%! 80%!"

They are deliberately telling lies to help our presently leftist government come up with excuses to disarm us. This is the latest angle, that our 2nd amendment rights spread misery throughout the world. I say the opposite is true: if our neighbors around the world had rights like we do, they would not be at the mercy of armed criminals. That said, if we do lose our 2nd amendment rights here, WE will be at the mercy of armed criminals!

Why do Obama et al. want us to be easy targets for criminals?

Jamaica doesn't need our 2nd amendment rights to disappear. They need gun rights and more legal gun ownership like we have.
