I've been a Netflix subscriber ever since moving into my condo and discovering that while it was being remodeled, some contractor cut the cable television lines that run behind my walls. The issue never got fixed by the developer because the subcontractors involved all played "not it!" until the warranty on such things expired.
Thus, I ended up with fixed wireless internet via a dish that is mounted on the wall inside of my balcony space. As for television, I decided to get a Netflix subscription and just borrow DVDs of television shows I want to see. My work schedule and tolerance for sitting still and watching television only allows me about one hour of time each day for it anyway, making my Netflix solution much cheaper than paying for cable television, something more expensive that I wouldn't have any more time for.
There's been one persistent problem with this: Netflix keeps sending me scratched up, nearly unwatchable DVDs.
I'm getting fed up with this, but I haven't canceled yet because I've not seen a decent, similarly or lower priced alternative. I've looked into getting content from the Internet and piping that to my television, and in my searches I found a link for a website called Spreety, claiming "Spreety TV Online : Watch TV Shows Online Free."
Certainly sounds interesting. I've been poking around at the site, which is expansive, but I think I may be using it incorrectly somehow. As of yet I haven't been able to actually watch any show (I could be doing something wrong, I'm not sure and I haven't given it much time or effort yet). I missed the ending of the new Battlestar Galactica series, so I've been working at getting to that through Spreety. If I pull it off, great! If not, I haven't spent anything anyway. That is, until I get the equipment I need to display these shows on my 50" plasma television...

Spreety links to Syfy (Sci Fi) for the Battlestar Galactica shows. The Syfy episode player requires Adobe Flash version 10. Be sure to check at the top of the browser if Adobe is requesting to install Flash.

I thought something like that might be the case, but I've been so busy with Forex stuff these last few days that I didn't give it much time. Spreety does seem like a promising resource though so now that things have calmed down with my trades, I'll take another look and do some tinkering.
