Space Aliens Come From Mexico?

You're just not allowed to have fun anymore, I swear.

Target criticized for 'illegal alien' costume

Target Corp. apologized Friday after coming under fire from customers and some Hispanic groups for selling an "illegal alien" Halloween costume on its website. The $39.99 costume comes with a space alien mask, an orange jail suit with "illegal alien" stamped on the chest and a large "green card." The Minneapolis retailer said the costume was added to its website by mistake and said it would be removed.

"It's insensitive, it's offensive," said Vicki Adame, a California media relations consultant who complained to Target after learning about the costume on a Facebook site, "Wise Latinas Linked," which lists 2,200 members. "Immigration is such a hot-button issue. Why is Target fueling that fire?"

Here's a photo of the "offensive" costume:

It's an alien. It's an alien in an orange jumpsuit holding a "green card." How many aliens in orange jumpsuits are running around our country? Other than people wearing this costume, none that I'm aware of. So who is this making fun of, exactly? Mexicans? I wasn't aware that Mexicans are orange jumpsuit wearing space aliens (I also was under the impression that an illegal can be anyone, from any country, who is not here legally - silly me).

What is really going on here is that these criminal aiding and abetting activists don't believe in the notion of "illegal aliens." They think our borders should just be a porous free-for-all. And I would agree with that, provided that we eliminate all forms of welfare and replace income taxes with consumption taxes. Without a welfare system to pillage and income taxes to avoid, I couldn't care less where you're from or how you got here. I'd be willing to bet that the vast majority of these activists wouldn't go for that arrangement, however, which would tell you something about their true intentions and beliefs.
