Recently I learned that the pigeon control contract I fulfill on behalf of my employer has been renewed. Apparently the city folks have been hearing from the downtown business owners and their clients that they really do enjoy having less pigeon poop around. Go figure.
With winter approaching again, that means I'll be waist deep in the water in the flood control channels beneath the city where a lot of pigeons roost. Last year I toughed it out and just put up with being wet and cold, but this year I am on the lookout for hip waders. I picked the right time of year to look, I think, because with major hunting seasons in full swing in Washington state right now, the supply of gear is plentiful, with everything from outdoor adventure gear, tent poles, replacement tent poles, char cloth, fire piston, trekking poles, camping tarp, camping, backpacking, hiking gear and more on the shelves.
Now I just have to stop myself from going on a shopping spree. It's all tempting though. However, Christmas is just around the corner...
