You may have seen this video making the rounds already. I'm not sure how old it is and I only learned of it thanks to Monk, a blogosphere acquaintance of mine from days and blogging platforms gone by.
This brings to mind recent quotes I've heard taken from people who lined up in Detroit for "stimulus funds." When asked where the money came from, many simply replied "Obama." The money doesn't come from him, not exactly (maybe "Congress" would be more accurate, but that still misses the mark), but the importance of that perception is huge: it reflects a willingness on the part of the recipient to be bought. The politicians, for their part, work as hard as they can to keep people believing that the only way they'll get ahead is if government gives them something; hence the name for them all, "victicrats." It's a vicious, republic destroying cycle.

Just watched it. That's awesome! I can't hear that song without thinking of Office Space.
For the non-self-actualized, I'll bet it does feel good to be a victim.

Russ,
Being a victicrat voter definitely has one benefit - you never have to be wrong! Your life doesn't ever get any better, but someone else is always to blame for your problems. Got lung cancer from smoking? The tobacco companies did it to you! Bought a house you couldn't afford? The banks tricked you! Your job doesn't afford you the lifestyle you want, or you have no job at all? It's not because you're unemployable, it's because greedy rich people are keeping what's rightfully yours!
Sounds like a nice life! I think all of us should just quit producing and live in paradise!
