Broken Promises

It's already old news that Obama's "no tax increases on people earning under $250k" promise has been broken, repeatedly. Some may give him a pass for not levying a direct tax on people who earn under that arbitrary limit, but that doesn't change the fact that he's hitting all of us, across the board. That bears repeating, and now we have another reminder of it:

Obama unveils 2011 budget with $3.83T in spending

Specifically, there is this part:

"The deficit would remain above $1 trillion in 2011 although the president proposed to institute a three-year budget freeze on a variety of programs outside of the military and homeland security as well as increasing taxes on energy producers and families making more than $250,000." [emphasis added]

Taxes on energy producers are a tax on you (unless you're completely off the grid, but don't worry I'm sure there's some excise tax in the works for you). Making energy more expensive also makes growing an economy more difficult - this fights unemployment how? On-going double digit unemployment will enable us to pay back these records deficits and debt how?
